Newscopy: "A weighty job indeed was the delivery of this huge weapon, one of two 16-inch guns purchased for Fort Funston as part of the Coast defense program. Shipped here on a flat car, the barrel was rolled off the cars onto a tractor for delivery to Fort Funston. The two guns will be the largest on the West Coast."
