Folder: S.F. Parks-Golden Gate Engineers-Residence. Written on back: "Residence of the Chief Engineer of the Golden Gate Park water supply system. This Victorian dwelling, built entirely of redwood in 1880s, was discontinued as the Engineer's residence 1943, and later was demolished to allow expansion of the Strybing Arboretum. Photo donated by Messrs. Herbert Carl and Fred Carl, Jr., who once (as children) were residents of this house.
