Written on back: "(FXS1) SAN FRANCISCO, July 9 -- TO OPEN THURSDAY -- This new freeway between Third Street in San Francisco and South San Francisco will open to northbound traffic Thursday. The Third Street overpass is in foreground. The 3.7 miles of freeway, much of it over an arm of the bay, will have cost about $7,600,000, including five million yards of fill, by the time of its completion. It will be a six lane freeway, eventually to be enlarge to eight lanes. The southbound lanes are scheduled to be opened in a few weeks. View, made Sunday, looks south.
