Newscopy: The latest style in Summer millinery - if you are one of San Francisco's Women Air Raid Wardens - is being tried on here by Virginia Hammond, 1672 19th Avenue, following her induction into the Air Raid Warden Service of the San Francisco Civilian Defense Council. Getting ready to try their bonnets of steel, as soon as necessary adjustments are made, are, left, Dorothy Sowers,134 Wawona Avenue, and Carroll Clare, 1753 18th Avenue. San Francisco women numbering from 8,000 to 10,000 are being sought to take the same training and appointment as Daytime Air Raid Wardens in their own neighborhoods, as has just been completed by the three shown here.
